Can see it now you mention it. Watched it again.Still most of the pit crew are giving up holiday and most of there free time to do it fare play to them all. Phase One are still one of the best teams in world endurance. Would like to do it myself. Don't think work would see it the same way as me though.

managed to sneak down the pit lane at zolder last june and saw them there, would love to do that in my spare time, would have put my name in when they were trawling, but my work dont allow me much of a social life..lol

Oh no not Alistair
I am the wheel man for P1 so I know Ali.
That pits stop was on Sunday morning and it was on the Junior bike, it was a steady stop as we could not gain a position.
It is very hard work and we give up most of our free time and pay our own expenses.
Big thanks to PB for supporting us in 06 ! are ya doing the same this year !
Oh by the way the PB reporters (pissheads) did not manage to stay up for 24hrs
My hat goes off to you and the crew. If I could do it I would be there. How do you stay alert for so long through a race? I've raced karts long and short circuit and you can't beat the team atmosphere what ever motor sport it is.......Curently playing with CBR 600RR's at Darley Moore track day school two wheels are better than Four.. Found that out last year and know I,m addicted.
Good luck if your doing it this year..
PB Reporters Mmmmmm light weights.

As tyre man I am the first up at around 7:30 am on race day, the kitchen staff are up as well cooking breakfast. I have to check all tyre pressures and put warmers going before my cornflakes.
We do morning warm up then it's non stop pre race checks etc before 3pm start on the Saturday.
Once the race is under way the Mechanics have it easy unless we have a bike problem, they can rest between pit stops and grab some shut eye (20 mins each time) as for tyre men we are non stop through out the race getting fresh rubber fitted and going through all the build checks, we might have 5-10 mins spare untill the bike comes in for fresh rubber.
This routine is non stop untill 3 pm sunday. once the race is over we pack the trucks which takes us till around 8 pm. now we can sleep in the pits or find a local hotel as we are not allowed to travel home untill we have had a nights sleep.
So I make that between 36-38 hours with out Sleep
Then its the drive home on the Monday for our real jobs on the Tuesday !
We are knackerd for the next few days but it takes around 5 days to get over the 5 day meeting.
Well worth it, If you have the time I recomened it !

Does sound good don't think I could stay up for that long though. Do you get use to it over time or don't you think bout it? How did you get into it and have you had any prior experience in bike racing? or the bike trade?
If the clip is a steady stop would love to see what a fast stop looks like. Who's the rider coming in and who is jumping on.

You manage to stay awake somehow ! You always have someone checking your work so we don't make mistakes.
I volunteered like the rest of us, you need to go to http://www.phaseone.co.uk as we are always looking for help.
I am a mechanic by trade so that helps, the thing is we need all types of skills. A goffer or cook is as important as a mechanic.
In the Video it's the Shell Junior bike with Alec Dubleski (Poland) getting off and Leroy Verboven (Bel) getting on
Thanks for the info Age. I to am a mechanic (car mechanic) but that sould not stop me. Keep thinking about it at work even though I want to race bikes (no money at present hiring bikes costs a bomb and I don't have a road bike at the moment to ride) it may be a good way of seeing another side of racing other than wanting to race. Will be looking at Phase one site thanks for the E-Mail address. Gaz
